Nights at the jungle can be a bit chilly (and somewhat scary if you had one or two spider visitors). Yet, sleeping in the jungle has so many other benefits: Relaxing sleep sounds that are not originating from a little tech device you installed in your house and the freshest air you will ever breathe!
Even after one night in this place, you will wake up very very energized.
That is until you are disturbed by some people!
After having an satisfying breakfast at the hotel, we set out to visit a nearby natural gem, Canon Blanco. A beautiful river dotted with small waterfalls and white large rock formations.
When I researched about this place, I heard about the famous rock formation called “El Sofa” that is shaped like a couch, photos of which made rounds on Instagram apparently. Well, we never found El Sofa but we sure enjoyed the cool water in a gorgeously sunny day.
On the way back, you could hear our stomach’s ramble. Being it was two days before Christmas time, we were worried about local places being closed. But luck was on our side when we ran into a local food stall that only sold fried pork and rice with pigeon beans. It was soo good that I forgot to even take a single picture!
Thankfully I marked it on the map if we every go back again!
We drove back satisfied, enjoying the views of an immensely beautiful, somewhat untouched tropical mother nature.
To be honest, we have had many reservations about doing a road trip like this to a not so touristy area in a place we don’t speak the local language. What made us feel so cozy and comfy like we knew everything we had to know was a YouTube channel named “Brik’s Travel Guides“.
Now having experienced it, I can tell you this was one of the easiest and safest places I have visited that left me feeling immersed in nature while staying off the beaten path.
